Accessing Specialized Nutrition Counseling Across Pennsylvania

Finding an eating disorder-informed, ADHD-informed, or weight-inclusive dietitian can be difficult, especially when the closest specialist is several hours away. Virtual nutrition counseling makes it possible to receive individualized support wherever you live in Pennsylvania.

01

Less time spent traveling

Meet from home without navigating traffic, parking, public transportation, long drives, or additional time away from work, school, or caregiving.

02

More access to specialized care

Work with a Pennsylvania eating disorder dietitian or non-diet dietitian even when that specialty is not readily available in your immediate community.

03

Support in your everyday environment

Discuss meals, routines, sensory needs, food access, and practical challenges in the same environment where eating actually happens.

An Individualized, Weight-Inclusive Approach

My nutrition counseling work is informed by:

  • A weight-inclusive, non-diet approach

  • Eating disorder-informed care

  • Lived experience

  • ADHD-informed and neurodiversity-affirming care

  • Creativity and flexibility

  • A belief in collective care and justice

There is no single “right” way to eat. Nutrition care should account for your body, health, culture, access, sensory needs, capacity, preferences, and lived experience.

What sessions are like

What to Expect From an Online Dietitian in Pennsylvania

Sessions are collaborative, conversational, and grounded in your everyday life. You do not need to prepare a perfect food log, know exactly what you want to work on, or prove that your concerns are serious enough.

Step 01

Begin with the full picture

During the initial assessment, we talk about your eating patterns, health history, relationship with food, current stressors, access needs, goals, and what previous nutrition care has been like.

Step 02

Create a realistic starting point

Together, we identify what would be most supportive now. That might include more consistent nourishment, meal structure, food exposure, symptom support, care coordination, or reducing anxiety around eating.

Step 03

Adjust as your needs change

Follow-up sessions provide space to troubleshoot barriers, notice patterns, practice new skills, and adapt the plan without turning flexibility into another standard you have to meet perfectly.

WHO YOU’LL BE SITTING WITH

Hi, I’m Alison

I’m Alison Swiggard, MS, RDN, LD, a non-diet registered dietitian and eating disorder dietitian. I believe nutrition counseling should feel like a place where you can exhale.

I especially love supporting adults who feel like traditional nutrition advice has never quite fit, including people navigating eating disorder recovery, disordered eating, body image distress, ADHD, anxiety around food, chronic dieting, or a long history of feeling “too much” or “not enough” in their bodies.
